Hour of Code Week - aka CS Education Week or Computational Thinking lets code logoWeek

The goal of the week is to have everyone do at least one hour of coding. The idea is that everyone needs to develop their computational thinking skills, so it is good to practice a bit. Even people who know how to code (like me) should practice their craft from time to time. Here are some good resources:

CT examples

Everyone needs to know what coding is and how computers work. But we also need to prepare students for future jobs by providing computer science classes in schools. CTC is currently working on new Computer Science Standards which should be public in 2018. This will add much needed guidance for CS teachers and hopefully expand the options for students.
