Back in Feb the Macarthur Foundation announced the winners of their Digital Learning and Innovation grant contest. Word was that they received thousands of proposals for this first grant program as part of their Digital Learning initiative. Check out the announcement and the list of winners.
Notice that few went to schools or education researchers. They are taking the broad view of education technology. I particularly like the hypercities idea.
