"Anyone who has begun to think places some portion of the world in jeopardy"--John Dewey

When people think, they start questioning existing assumptions and established norms that hold the world together. This puts the world in jeopardy, because a new belief or norm is established. With these new ideas one can begin to question their own beliefs and understandings as well those of others.

An example of this is what is happening in China today. China wants to dictate the "search results" and ban search engines, such as Google. The fear would be that web users will be exposed to information that could make them begin to question the world around them.
