Possible outcomes from this

  • how well students do independent work while music is/is not playing
  • measure volume in the classroom (e.g. with a computer microphone)
  • count percentage of students on task
  • rate classroom according to level of chaos
  • give students a survey about their attitude (rate your happiness)
  • see how many assignments are turned in
  • see how long it takes for people to finish
  • measure the amount of time till class settles down

For each class we will measure two things every day:

  1. the common measurement (% of students settled after M minutes)
  2. measurement of your choice

Also have students complete the post music survey.

Common Measurements

  • measure how settled the class is after M minutes of music playing (M is dertermined by the site)
    • Rubric - 100, 75, 50, 25, 0 percent of students who appear to be on task
