5. You play a musical instrument in my class (yes, voice IS an instrument), do you think that you listen to music with a different focus than you did before you learned about music through your instrument?

Assume that you are out of high school and working. Make a guess about how much money you might be making a month at an entry level job. Make a a guess about how much money you will need to make a month in order to be live on your own in a one bedroom apartment. Make a budget and allocate how much you will spend on each necessity including rent, food, clothing, entertainment etc.? Add all the necessity you can think of and come up with a total number. Do you think your estimates are realistic? Why? are you surprised at the total? does this number match the money you were assuming you would make? Would you make any changes in your plans for future now?

Clinical Interview Protocol
1. Do you think separating students by sex prepares students for the real world?
2. Research shows that girls in single-sex schools have more confidence and are have access to more leadership opportunities than they would have in coed schools. Also, studying in an all-male setting allows males are more apt to be encouraged to participate in the arts and do volunteer work in their communities. Do you agree with this information?
3. Do you think it is reasonable to separate the sexes for at least some portion of education (like grades 9-12 only) rather than K-12? If so, which years?
4. There is so much distraction today in public schools that students lose sight as to why they're really at school. Supporters of same-sex education say it builds confidence and helps students concentrate on their work by removing the distractions of dating and other social pursuits. Would you agree or disagree with this statement?
5. Single-sex school’s class sizes are typically smaller, thus making it easier for teachers to give individual attention to those who need it. In addition, school days are longer by at least two hours, and children are required to wear uniforms to class. Do you think these other factors are influencing their success, or can we attribute it solely to same sex classes?
6. Tynisha Smalls, a senior who attends Young Women's Leadership Institute in Harlem, N.Y., said she chose to go to an all-girls school because the classes were smaller and offered her a better opportunity to get to know everyone. What do you think she meant by that statement?
