There is also a link for various games and activities ranging from cooperative games to dance and rhythmic games. Description: This site is connected through the forums link of A to Z teacher stuff. This forum is devoted entirely to bringing physical education into the classroom. There are several suggestions as to how to get students up and moving for thirty minutes each day. The activities listed are largely suggested and recommended by other teachers, this way new teachers can feel confident in implementing these techniques or feel free to make modifications and repost to the website to share with other teachers. This site is updated frequently, with new sections on Innovative Products just launched, and coming soon are new activities and a Fitness section. The authors are aware of political correctness, and respond on the front page to the grouping of students into “Cowboys and Indians.” This resource is for teachers looking for new games, looking to resource with other teachers, and is inclusive of all teachers and students. There are pages and pages of ideas for K-12. One of the reasons I like this site is because it suggests both indoor and outdoor activities, depending on the weather. There are also theme ideas for holidays such as Halloween, St. Patrick’s Day, and Thanksgiving. (Heather Feldbaum)

The website is structured like a lesson plan starting with a description of the lesson, a list of materials needed, and the steps of the procedure. The lesson begins with a warm up. Then the teacher is to play music from a well known ballet and the students are to fluidly interpret the music. They are to move slowly during the slower parts of the music and faster during the quicker parts of the music. (Kelly Iannuzzi)

The website starts off by telling the teacher to show students the movie Singin’ in the Rain so that students can see Gene Kelly’s advanced tap technique. Then the website explains how students can make their own tap shoes with an old pair of shoes and self adhesive metal heel clips. The directions are very clear. Then the students explore the sound that their taps make on the floor. Next, the students learn a simple combination. (Kelly Iannuzzi)

It explores the concepts of locomotor and nonlocomotor movements. On the left hand side of the page you will find the unit descriptors such as: prior learning needed, core tasks, enrichment, vocabulary, resources, cross-curricular links, objectives, and activities. On the right side of the page you will find the four different sections of the unit that include: skill acquisition, skill application, understanding fitness, and evaluating performance. It offers different locations that students can experience dance, theatre, and music. From summer camps, to dance studios, to performance academies, this website provides a description of the organization, as well as the grade levels and ages that it is geared to. I has K-12 lesson plans for physical education, dance, health, and adapted physical education. Educators can post their lesson plans as well. There are also assessment tools, content information, job postings, research updates, links to related sites, and a store. There is a Trivia Quiz for students 8 – 18. DISCRIPTION: On this web site there are interactive quizzes on the muscles, joints, tendons, ligaments, diet, and metabolism. There are also coaching tips for a variety of sports, and a section on sports injuries. This site also has study aids such a s flash card. For teachers, it has lesson plans and worksheets. They can learn about the digestive system, nervous system, cardio vascular system, and dental health as well. They also have the ability to learn important information about nutrition and how to read nutrition facts on the labels of many food products. Students can learn methods to improve their emotional and mental health. Learning safety tips is another feature that makes this website valuable. Peer pressure and what role the media plays in the lives of adolescent students is also covered by this website. Best used for students in grades 3-6 and this is a free website.
