What is OpenSource

Software is open source if the code for the software is distributed in a way that allows others to modify and redistribute the software to others. This promotes sharing and collaboration which ultimately produces more and better software than if we waited for companies to build and sell software that is needed. Many opensource projects use the GNU General Public Liscense
