Summary

The apprentices learn from shared experiences and stories from "old timers". The apprentices attend the Alcoholics Anonymous meetings several times a week and start off as drinking non alcoholics and hopefully change their identity to non drinking alcoholics.

Learning Trajectory

~ Attend first meeting and make a silent gesture (picking up a 24 hour sober chip).

~ Identify as an alcoholic.

~ Listening to hour long stories from veteran alcoholics in a large group setting.

~ Share their stories in small group setting.

~ Hear and read personal stories through readings, literature, and talk with individual old timers.

~ Participate in bits and pieces.

~ Contribute to old timers stories through their own experiences.

~ Learn which stories are appropriate and inappropriate.

~ Recruit someone to bring into the meetings.

The timeframe for this process could be one year to a lifetime.
