How to play freeciv

No one should have to play a game with no help!

Here is the notes about how to get started playing freeciv (assuming you have downloaded and installed it already)

click start new game
Choose the number of players (AI players to play against you)
- the more players you choose the faster you will come into contact (war!)
- few players means more time to build own civilization
Pick your nation (choose a country/nationality for your civilization)

current player is highlighted with a circle (and is shown on the left side)
Moving:
- drag mouse to a destination
- use the number keypad to move in a desired diretion
- land units cannot go in the ocean and sea units cant go on the land
Orders:
- choose an order from the "orders" menu
- each order has a keystroke
- only some units can do some orders (only settlers can build a city)
Board
- black spaces are uncharted territory
- Huts have surprises - money, research, mercinaries, barbarians, cities
  - to find out what you have, you read your messages
- Resources (gold, oil, phesant, iron, fish, whale, wine, buffalo) - if you have a nearby city you can use those resources
- Build cities near resources and fertile land

explore land quickly
- look for good spots for cities
- look in huts for goodies
build lots of cities and take over more land
