Students

Intervention

  • Greet all students verbally or greeting a subset - Researcher choice
    • Plan A: greet all the students similarly
    • Plan B: greet targeted students specially
      • Identify the N students with behavioral problems
  • Use names or personal details when possible – no questions during greeting time
  • Greet several days in a row


Control

  • Start with the normal greeting and implement intervention in second week

Data Collection

Measures

Measure of on taskness:

  • Plan A: rate the % of students on task at a set time(s) each class
  • Plan B: tally the number of behavioral issues for each of the targeted students
    • Include disruptive behavior, off task, obvious non-participation

Attendance (easy to measure but not likely to show results) Completion of work (warm up activity) Participation
